South Camp: Located on the east shore in the southern part of the lake, it offers wonderful sunsets, which can be enjoyed while sitting on your deck. The calm of the evening is very often broken by the slapping of Mr. Beaver’s tail! The bay behind the camp and the channel in front provide great fishing right at your doorstep. A short boat ride can put you in the shallow southern end of the lake or the deeper waters to the north. This outpost is conveniently located to access the southern part of the lake.

Fishing review of Lake McInnes- South Camp
Hey Viking Outpost Gang,

Wendy and Alex Schnepf on their way to McInnes Lk

This was our first fly-in fishing experience and we couldn't have picked a better outfitter. Thank you for all your help and expertise. Since this was our first fly-in, it was really nice to have almost daily visits from your staff at our cabin doing routine maintenance and available to see if we're ok (the half gallon of skim milk was all we needed, but it was nice to see that you were there if we needed you). So, thank you Hugh for your insights on what works well from your fishing experience, we had great success with no. 11 floating rapalas used with lead slip sinkers. We found this advice to be great for us and we caught a large number of Northern Pike and Walleye, most of which we happily returned to the lake. Thank you Craig, for offering the opportunity of fishing McInnes Lake. McInnes Lake offered great fishing, postcard-like scenery (especially sunsets at the cabin) and more than enough opportunity to explore remote Ontario landscape.Sunset on McInnes by Andy Schnepf

It was really nice to finally meet Roseanne and Enid, who corresponded to us during the long wait called winter and gave us great information about your camps. Visiting your outpost was exactly as you described only better. We hope that we can return to your outpost next season, we really liked fishing at the outpost. We're looking for another couple of anglers to join us so we can fish the remotes and join you next year. Thanks for the unforgettable experience, Andy, Wendy and Alex Schnepf

P.S. Part of the unforgettable experience was catching (and releasing) a 33"inch and 28" Northern Pikes and a 23" Walleye. The fish really enjoyed attacking a no. 14 blue and orange Rapala Husky Jerk. Amazing!
